Project Background

Located in New York, USA, this is a high-end urban hotel project. The hotel space blends modern luxury, Eastern artistic sensibility, and New York urban character, with public areas including lobby lounges, bars, reception areas, poolside leisure zones, and select suite spaces.

From the site, you can see the hotel extensively uses dark wood finishes, warm lighting, metal details, fireplaces, water features, art installations, and large floor-to-ceiling windows — creating a calm, private, and refined atmosphere that emphasizes comfort and visual layering in premium hotel spaces.

We are honored to have participated in supplying upholstered furniture for this project, including sofas, lounge chairs, armchairs, booth seating, and matching dining chairs. Although this collaboration wasn't a complete hotel furniture package, being part of such a high-caliber New York hotel project remains a valuable international experience for us.

Client Background & Requirements

The client wanted upholstered furniture to blend seamlessly with the hotel's overall spatial design. As a high-end hotel project, furniture is not merely functional but part of the spatial character.

The client outlined several clear requirements for the upholstered furniture:

01

Furniture style must align with the hotel's overall design. The hotel space features dark wood, warm brown, off-gray, black metal, and touches of orange-red — creating a premium, quiet, and layered atmosphere. Upholstered furniture should not be overly commercial or heavy, but rather exhibit restrained, comfortable, and enduring sophistication.

02

Products must withstand high-frequency hotel use. Hotel lobbies, bars, and lounges receive numerous guests daily. Upholstered furniture must have stable structure, good resilience, wear-resistant fabrics, and easy maintenance. The client cares about both initial appearance and long-term operational condition.

03

Seating must be comfortable without appearing sloppy. High-end hotel lounge furniture should invite guests to linger while maintaining clean silhouettes and crisp appearance. Seat, backrest, and armrest fullness and support must be balanced — neither too soft nor too rigid.

04

Detail craftsmanship must withstand close inspection. Hotel spaces have rich lighting layers, and furniture is often positioned where guests can closely examine it. Stitching, corners, finishes, curves, backrest height, and cushion thickness will all be magnified. The client requires overall refinement without visible wrinkles, deformation, misaligned lines, or disproportionate elements.

Upholstered Furniture Solution

Based on the function and atmosphere of different hotel areas, we provided various types of upholstered furniture to complement each space.

Bar & Reception Areas

Furniture centers on low-profile sofas, lounge chairs, and modular seating. Clean yet voluminous forms paired with warm gray, beige, deep brown, and orange-red upholstery bring vitality to the沉稳 atmosphere.

Lobby Lounge Area

Upholstered furniture emphasizes open reception experiences. Armchairs, loveseats, curved seating, and coffee tables combine to form multiple distinct yet connected conversation zones — suitable for brief stays or business meetings.

Poolside & Leisure Spaces

Furniture needs to echo the high ceilings, water features, lighting, and wood finishes. We focused on lighter proportions and fabric choices for a sense of airiness and comfort — ensuring furniture doesn't overwhelm the space while maintaining stability.

Suites & Private Rest Areas

Furniture emphasizes tranquility, comfort, and residential feel. Sofas and lounge chairs use softer fabric textures paired with warm lighting and dark wood backgrounds to create a relaxing, private atmosphere in premium hotel suites.

Project Execution

Although this project only involved partial upholstered furniture, we followed hotel project standards for coordination and production.

Pre-Production

Based on spatial renderings, site photos, and product requirements provided by the client, we confirmed dimensions, fabric colors, seating feel, and usage zones for each type of upholstered furniture. Given the varying spatial scales across hotel areas, we paid special attention to furniture-to-space proportions to avoid sizing or visual coordination issues after installation.

Material Selection

For material selection, we prioritized the hotel's commercial use environment. Upholstery fabrics needed good wear resistance, comfortable touch, and visual quality while being easy to clean and maintain. High-density resilient foam was selected for cushioning to maintain support and bounce over long-term use.

Structural Construction

For structural construction, we reinforced stress-bearing areas of seats, backrest connections, and armrest corners to ensure products could withstand high-frequency use in hotel public areas. For lounge chairs, sofas, and booths, we carefully controlled backrest angles, seat depth, and seat height for both ergonomic comfort and visual proportion within hotel spaces.

Upholstery Craftsmanship

For upholstery craftsmanship, we focused on fabric tension, corner curves, stitching straightness, cushion fullness, and backrest shaping. Curved chairs, low-back sofas, and irregular upholstered pieces required even higher craftsmanship to ensure natural forms, smooth lines, and left-right symmetry.

Shipping & Packaging

Before shipping, we conducted appearance checks, dimension verification, seating feel tests, and packaging protection. Given the New York location and long-distance shipping requirements, we reinforced protection for corners, upholstery surfaces, legs, and pressure-prone areas to minimize damage risks during transit.

Project Results

After installation, the upholstered furniture integrated well with the hotel's overall space. The furniture didn't compete with architectural and interior design focal points but enhanced the spatial experience through comfort, tranquility, and refinement.

Bar area: Sofas and lounge chairs unified with dark bars, warm lighting strips, fireplaces, and wood finishes — creating the calm and private atmosphere characteristic of New York luxury hotels.

Public lounge area: Off-gray, warm brown, and touches of orange-red upholstered furniture added layering to the space, maintaining sophistication while avoiding the oppressive feel of large dark areas.

Poolside and rest areas: Light upholstered seating echoed water surfaces, lighting, columns, and large chandeliers — creating a resort-like, relaxing feel while maintaining the order expected of premium hotels.

Overall, the upholstered furniture met client requirements for visual quality, comfort, and commercial durability. After installation, products appeared natural in the space — not jarring, not cheap — meeting the quality standards expected for high-end hotel public areas.

Client Feedback

"
Working with EASEN was smooth. Despite remote communication, they excelled at understanding spatial style, confirming product details, and managing production progress. The upholstered furniture integrated well with our space upon installation, with seating feel and appearance meeting high-end hotel standards. We would consider working with them again for similar projects.

Project Summary

This New York hotel project holds significant meaning for us. Although we only participated in part of the upholstered furniture, the project itself had high standards, demanding greater requirements for design understanding, material selection, upholstery craftsmanship, production details, and export delivery.

Through this project, we gained deeper insight that high-end hotel furniture isn't about pursuing complex forms or expensive materials, but rather achieving balance between spatial style, ergonomic comfort, commercial durability, and detail quality.

We are deeply grateful to the client for the opportunity to participate in this project. Going forward, we will continue focusing on upholstered furniture for hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars, and other commercial spaces — providing stable, professional, and quality furniture products and customization services for more international commercial projects.
