A cocktail bar and lounge inside a boutique hotel in downtown Los Angeles, USA, approx. 240 sqm, positioned as a warm, retro, dramatic high-end social drinking space. Terracotta and blush clay-plaster walls, abstract art, dark velvet seating and table lamps with a lilac-tiled bar create a rich, refined atmosphere.

Client needs: lounge seating must be relaxed and comfortable for long drinks; booths and chairs must echo the warm retro theme; bar stools must use wear-resistant leather or velvet; fabrics must be wear-resistant and easy to maintain; with dim lighting, furniture must stand out through form and texture.

Solution

Dark velvet lounge armchairs and low banquette sofas with small round cocktail tables in the lounge, relaxed and comfortable; leather bar stools at the counter; wall banquettes to raise seat density; stain-treated velvet and leather with high-density foam fill.
